It's 10:30am and already the temperature of the sun... if the sun were underwater. Humidity is not our friend. Bleck. Alas, I cannot spend 10 hours at the library, unless they start deciding it's OK if I haul my sewing machine and a bag full of fabric so I can get something done! So, I'm toughing it out the best I can in front of the fan. I bought paint on Sunday, so I could paint our foyer, but that will have to wait until the humidity drops. For wet paint in the equally wet air never dries. NEVER!
Anywho, I was going to talk about doll quilts. Right. That picture up there, the one with all the fabric, that's my inspiration picture. I went through my two boxes of scraps from my Great Aunt Madeline and pulled out everything that "spoke" to me. Originally, I was going to do a scrappy log cabin, but after I sat and stared at all this loveliness, I decided that that wouldn't showcase this fabric in the way I thought it deserved. So, I went in a different way.
Meet my quilt top. I love every single fabric that I used to make it and this way, all of them get a chance to shine. It looks so much better in person than this picture depicts. I hope my partner likes it. There's a lot of history here. 95 years worth.

oooh...pretty! I love quilts....I've made about 3 (very primitive) quilts...no patterns or anything, just rather uneven squares! :) It's the same humid hotness here, as well....ick!
Have fun quilting!

I wish you lived closer! You could come over and sit with me in the central air. Then when you left I would offer to help you carry your things out, lock the door behind you, and giggle at my wickedness for stealing your little quilt!! LOL

Lovely quilt top!! I too hate humidity. We have nothing but dry heat here and the air conditioner went out at my work so I have been overheating for 2 weeks. I have been meaning to get to the post office to send off the package I have for you. I promise to get it to you soon!!
