Oh yeah. I got Happy Feet. And I didn't even have to dance about like a Penguin. These shoes are more adorable in person than even I was expecting! Poor Cleo, though. She's sick with a cold and her left eye is all goopy and squinty. She's been doing a lot of sleeping, interspersed with me wiping her eye and her thinking that eye wiping is for the dogs. However, my life hasn't been all eye wiping and shoe admiring. I've actually gotten some work done!
Here is the second in my set of doll quilts for Nancy. She wanted something like this quilt, so I did my best to replicate the feel of it, with out copying. It measures 10"x14" and uses vintage and new cotton as well as natural linen.
I used this vintage sheet for the back, because Nancy really likes it and the colors fit nicely. I think it turned out pretty well.
I also finished my coasters for the Coaster Swap that Amy sponsored. I wanted to use this technique because the next quilt I'm making for Nancy uses it and I wanted practice. It's a good thing I did. These turned out far smaller than I had planned, because I forgot to include seam allowance for the middle seams. I only remembered to add it for the edges. So, I'm including all 8 for my partner, instead of 4, because they are a bit on the small side. Only about 3.25"x3.25", but they still can hold a glass or a soda can pretty well. I hope my partner likes them. It was hard for me to get an idea of what she liked, so I just went through my scraps and found fabrics that I liked and that went well together. I used both new and vintage cotton and a red, white and blue vintage plaid wool for the backing.
I'm off to get a bit more work done. Ta!

Were you brave enough to wear them outside?

I am glad to hear that your feet are so happy. My eyes are very happy to see that delightful little doll quilt. I really like the tan blocks with the red outlined bunny and clothes. It sort of looks like red work, but I can't quite tell. I know that you have done a lot of doll quilt swap stuff in the past. Do you know of any other ones? I am such a newbie to this swap stuff, I don't quite know how to find one. Thanks ;)
