Wendy wanted us to make ourselves out of fabric. So I did. I'm going to pretend I'm not really that fat, but I'd wear that dress if someone handed it to me! Also, my embroidered hair amuses me.
Jacquie wanted us to make red crosses on white backgrounds and to included a little black if we wanted. My favorite one is the one where I embroidered "cross." Yeah, so it's a bit literal, but it cracks me up. I hope she doesn't hate it!
Amanda wanted us to make big blocks (this baby is 16 x 16) that had pluses and minuses on a teal background. I wasn't really jazzed when I saw the fabrics individually, but they look crazy good all together!
Nadia wanted blocks made from the cute fabric she sent so she could use them to make a quilt for her new baby. She sent white and grey solids, as well as the cute peeking animals and the trains. I had this idea to put the animals in trees in a forest and so I did and then a couple of days later, I noticed on the Common Threads blog that someone else did the same thing! HA! And how could you not make a block where those cute little trains get to run around a cute little track! I was going to embroider "All Aboard!" in the middle, but I wasn't sure if Nadia would like it, so I left it blank and she can add something there at her discretion. I like the white space of it blank too.
I hope you ladies like your blocks!
