So, today in the car, Brian and I were listening to Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me and the Bluff the Listener game was about classic works of literature being improved. There was one about Odysseus being remade into a picture book with Peeps, one where zombies were added to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, and one where a court scene was added to the end of Death of a Salesman. I wanted the zombies to be true with all of my heart, but Brian and I both thought it would be Death of a Salesman. Here's a clue as to the real answer.
I must have this book. MUST! I've added it to my Amazon wish list and I think its just one of the funniest things I've ever heard of in my life. Now, I want to read all classic tales with added zombie flavor. War and Peace and Braaainz, Little Zombies, Their Eyes Were Watching Zombies, All Quiet on the Zombie Front, The Zombies of Wrath, the possibilities are endless!
Here's a synopsis from Chronicle Books:
"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies features the original text of Jane Austen's beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Complete with 20 illustrations in the style of C. E. Brock (the original illustrator of Pride and Prejudice), this insanely funny expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen's classic novel to new legions of fans."

Brilliant! And the cover art makes me squee in delight. The best part is, I've never read Pride and Prejudice, so double my pleasure for sure!
